Wreck A Toyota Camry

Updated: Oct 15, 2020

The Toyota Camry is one of the most reliable cars ever made. These type of vehicles were built to last longer than 30 years, which is excellent news for car wreckers all around.

Toyota wreckers, otherwise known as Toyota auto wreckers, are the people responsible for taking care of your used Toyota. You may have damaged your vehicle in an accident or abandoned the car altogether. It’s then the wrecker’s job to try to carefully retrieve some parts from that decommissioned vehicle and sell it. But if the vehicle was broken entirely or accident damaged, then they have no choice but to take it to the scrapper. When it comes to A Camry, if the car has not been through some severe accident, then you are in luck. Even from a Toyota Camry 93, you will get parts that are worth the money.

But first, you need to do a thorough inspection. So, this means checking out the bumpers, chassis, and metal parts…etc.

Here are some parts that you should look for when wrecking a Toyota Camry. Remember, these are also the parts that have the most value in a second-hand market-

1 – Toyota Camry’s Catalytic Converter The converters reduce the emission of toxic gases from your car. You will find your catalytic converter right near the exhaust pipes. Most cars built after 1970 are bound to have these converters.

There are two reasons you should keep this part. For starters, there is a good demand for working converters in the market. You can get a fantastic deal out of selling the converter alone.

The second reason is to sell the materials. These converters are usually made of platinum, rhodium, or palladium. They are all rare earth materials which worth a lot for a wrecker. The platinum ones will get you the best money. But you can also sell it at a reasonable price for the rhodium or palladium. 2 – The Battery New batteries can be expensive. Traditional ones can cost about $100-$250, whereas the premium ones can cost you over $150-$400. That is why people are always looking for second-hand batteries at a lower price.

If you have a working Toyota Camry hybrid battery or Durablast battery, then you can get a reasonable price of $50-$70 by selling it. And if you think the battery is in excellent condition, then you can reuse it for yourself.

3 – The Cars Electronic Equipment The new models come with tons of electronic equipment. But even the old ones were highly engineered like GPS systems, dashcam and touch screen head unit, etc. are still very good to resale. Did you know that an air conditioner and the stereo system last way longer than any latest luxury vehicles? You will find perfect working air conditioners even on a Toyota Camry 93.

So if you have your hands on one of these old classics, make sure you retrieve the air conditioning system and stereo system. In the older models, you will typically find 4-inch front speakers and 6 inch rear speakers. Take them out and put them on your stock. For the newer models, make sure you get your hands on the GPS because those things will sell fast and at a fair price.

4 – Toyota Camry’s Engines And Transmission System I can not stress the fact enough that Toyota Camrys were built to last. You can still see perfectly running Toyota Camry 93s out in the street.

Speaking of the 93, these bad boys used 4-cylinder engines and top-notch transmission systems back in the day. But lucky for you, most of those engines still work and can be sold for a reasonable price.

After getting out all the critical spare parts, your Toyota will have to be stripped off of its harness, wiring and heating system and then its empty shell will be crushed into a cube. Takeaway

Toyotas are reasonably simple machines but built in a way that makes them so durable. Even today there is a massive demand for second-hand parts of the Toyota Camry and other models. If you get your hands on one of these beautiful machines, check for the used parts we mentioned above before sending it to the scrapper.
